Excuse Our Mess:

We are in the process of completely redoing our web site to be able to keep you informed of our
current endeavours, new finds and other news from around the Lakes. We will try our best to keep this
web site updated in a regular and timely manner.

New to the Team:

CLUE would like to welcome Tom Kowalczk as a new team member. Tom has been discovering and
researching Lake Erie shipwrecks for many years with an emphasis on the Western Basin. His
experience and expertise are welcomed and will greatly enhance our team's capabilities. Tom has his
own web site at
http://lake.cros.net/  ; please visit him.

G'day Mates:

We would like to welcome Dave VanZandt back from sunny Australia (the dog). He was 'down under'
finishing his archaeological field school requirements in Victor Harbor for his Master's Degree in
Maritime Archaeology through  Flinders University, Adelaide, South Australia. You can read all about
Dave and his mates exciting adventures at:

http://www.uri.edu/artsci/his/mua/project_journals/flinders/flinders_intro.shtml

You may also learn of Dave's love of skippy and maybe a bit about the Port Willunga 'death march.'
Dave would like to thank the staff at Flinders University, especially Jennifer McKinnon, who served her
first year as director of the field school.

Also, congrats go out to Dave on completing his Graduate Certificate in Maritime Archaeology from
Flinders University.

Story Time with Jim:

On Saturday, February 24, 2007, our own Chief Researcher, Jim Paskert, was invited to speak to the
Maritime Archaeological Survey Team (MAST) after its quarterly meeting.  Jim talked at length about
his research and where it has led him.  He discussed his 'assistance' to the Coast Guard in re-finding the
World War II fuel barge
Cleveco after it started leaking oil in the 1990's.  He also wove tales of
searching various archives, his collection of unique archival materials, his finding and identifying
shipwrecks in this area, and generally entertained everyone for well over an hour. Do it again, Jim!

New Web Site Coming:

Be on the lookout for a new web site coming to your computers shortly. Kevin just does not have
enough
room for all of his dive reports on this site, so he is going to bless the Internet with his
presence in the near future. I'm sure
he will inform you when this happens or just look for the next
web outage when he sucks up all of the available storage space ;)
